In recent years, chocolate covered cakes have emerged as an alternative to a traditional wedding cake.

We offer chocolate sponge sandwiched with a ganache filling. The cakes can then be covered with ganache and decorated with plain, milk or white chocolate cigarillos around the sides and chocolate shavings, to match or contrast on the top.

Variations can include mixing plain, milk or white cigarillos in sequence or randomly. Another option is to have one tier,the middle for example, covered with white chocolate and the top and bottom tiers covered with milk chocolate.

Chocolate cakes can be displayed using a cake stand (as shown), or stacked.

Amongst other ideas, sugar flowers or chocolate roses can decorate the cake, or as shown butterflies can be used.

As a fun alternative to cigarillos, Maltesers are ideal! The cake shown to the left features a contrasting tier but with the topping of chocolate shavings kept consistent throughout.

A wired top decoration has been made using Maltesers to complement the cake.

Chocolate fondant can also be used as a covering for chocolate wedding cakes, if preferred.

In addition to our standard ganache filling, we can also offer a Drambuie flavoured ganache (as this contains alcohol it is strictly for adults only!).
