Is Beau Flowerpaste edible?
Absolutely. Whilst some colourings on the market that are described as "non toxic" should only be used on items removed from the cake before cutting, Beau Flowerpaste contains only edible colourings and can thus be also used for lettering/modelling.
How should I store my sugar flowers once made?
Ideally in a warm dry place with low humidity. An airing cupboard or similar conditions are ideal.
How long does the paste take to dry?
This does vary depending on atmospheric conditions and also the size of flower being made. I like to leave my flowers overnight to give ample time for drying.
There is air within the unopened packaging of Beau Flowerpaste. Is this OK?
This is correct. When manufactured the paste needs to breathe as it matures, so a small amount of air is included as the packet is sealed. Once opened though, the paste should be kept airtight or it will dry out.
How is Beau Flowerpaste best stored?
Ideally the packaging should be sealed after use, to exclude air. The paste keeps well at room temperature in a resealed condition.
How is Beau Flowerpaste best used for lettering and modelling?
Use straight from the packet for lettering. Combine with an equal amount of good quality sugar paste to make a versatile modelling paste.
I want to modify the colour of Beau Flowerpaste. Can I use dust colours?
Beau flowerpaste works well with food dusts. If dusted sugar flowers are lightly steamed excellent results can be obtained. Please ensure when using dusts that the packaging clearly identifies the dust as edible. Many dusts are described as non toxic and should only be used on items to be removed from the cake before it is cut and eaten (e.g. sugar floral sprays). Craft dusts are not suitable and should not be used in any circumstances.
